“It’s really not working”: Competitive energy may not spark big savings in Maine

ACCES spokesperson, Frank Caliva, gave an interview to WMTW about the benefits of energy competition. The article compared posted supplier rates with the default service rate and noted that there weren’t necessarily cost savings.
“Savings aren’t necessarily the only thing consumers may care about,” said Frank Caliva with the American Coalition of Competitive Energy Suppliers.
Caliva said the power to choose is still important.
“You might be willing to pay a premium for additional values whether it’s price certainty, this is locked in for a longer period of time, or that you’re supporting renewable energy,” he said.
